About the Artist: Kicking off the series is Jaqueline Cedar, an American artist based in Brooklyn, NY, celebrated for her figurative paintings that delve into psychological and physical interactions within abstract settings. Her work illuminates themes of self-awareness, control, and immobility, portraying figures immersed in their thoughts yet driven to engage with their environment. Through a vibrant interplay of line and color, Cedar creates dynamic and thought-provoking scenarios. Cedar’s work is currently included in a group show at Serious Topics in Los Angeles and the Platform x David Zwirner. Her work has been highlighted in prominent publications like the Huffington Post and New American Paintings.
